Seismic areas are not all on the West Coast anymore Seismic design should be considered when installing a pallet rack system now in many U.S. locations. Especially on the West Coast, it can now apply to cities like Oklahoma City, Memphis, Topeka and Charleston. When we talk about Seismic areas, it means these areas require increased safety measures for any persons in proximity to racking by reducing the risk of its collapse should an earthquake occur. Rack that meets these standards are a result of a series of engineering calculations.
